THE sustainable food group at Transition Town Wellington is giving people the chance to learn how to bottle and preserve food.

The fun cookery class will teach how to make jams, pickles and chutney, and preserve fruit and vegetables by bottling.

Participants will be able to take home what they make but will need to provide glass jars and lids, and fresh fruit and vegetables if possible.

The event is at the Northfield/Active Living Centre in North Street, Wellington, on Saturday (September 16) from 1-5pm. Everyone is welcome but children must be supervised.
