RETIRED Les Hill, now in his mid 80s, has returned to the farm he and his wife Kathleen farmed for 53 years.

The farm has been scaled down since its heyday but there was a flock of sheep, as well as friends and family to welcome Les and other residents from Oaktree Court on their visit.

Everyone enjoyed the opportunity for some lamb cuddling and a chance to see ewes with their new lambs in the barn.

The trip back to Sampford Arundel for Les was part of the weekly activities programme at Oaktree Court which range from trips to Knightshayes Court, local garden centres, the seaside and all types of concerts and theatre productions.

Les is a well-known and respected member of the farming community and was also active in the Devon and Somerset Gliding Club, Rotary Club and Round Table in his younger days.

He clearly enjoyed sharing a glimpse into farming life with fellow residents.
