A TEAM of carol singers from Wellington Churches Together visited pubs in Wellington before Christmas and collected money for Children’s Hospice South West.
They started at The Dolphin and called in at all the pubs, plus a couple of takeaways, as far as The Cottage before walking out to the Barley Mow at Rockwell Green, which provided mulled wine and mince pies after the
carols.
The owners, landlords and customers welcomed the singers and gave generously to the charity, and joined in the singing enthusiastically. The total collected during the evening was £251.
The carol singing was organised by John Salter, and Paddy Finnegan, who also accompanied the singing on guitar.
Churches Together in Wellington & District would like to wish a happy new year to WWN readers.
