We never cease to be amazed by the generosity of people when it comes to supporting the Christmas appeal for boxes of gifts for the people of Moldova through Christian Response to Eastern Europe, which is based in Devon.

As well as receiving boxes from many individuals, Bulford Ladies Group has once again donated a number of knitted garments as well as boxes of gifts. We were also delighted to hear from a lady in Yeovil following the charity being mentioned on local radio. Her aim is to fill ten shoeboxes with new gifts for all ages – toddlers to the elderly.

We have also received many very good quality secondhand goods from clothing and bedding to travel cots, pushchairs, walking aids and sanitary products. This has seen us making six trips to the charity’s depot in Exmouth instead of the usual two and we have at least one more to make, which will be on Wednesday, November 4.

If you would like to support this annual appeal there is still time. As the television advert says – It’s Simples! Fill a box of any size with age-appropriate new gifts, cover in seasonal paper, label giving gender – and age if for a child – and deliver to 4 South View, Hemyock, by Tuesday, November 3, leaving in the back porch if no reply. Local collection is possible. Phone 07773 579809 with any queries.

Thank you for your incredible support for the people of this devastatingly poor country.
