Little Silver Lane, just off the Relief Road near Wellington, was blocked for much of yesterday (Wednesday) after an articulated lorry became jammed in the narrow road.

The Dutch driver tried to free it using its own power but lost traction on a hill.

A Landrover driven by Alan Shire, who lives in the lane, was used at one stage but did not have the power to pull it free.

The lorry was still blocking the lane when the WWN went to press yesterday afternoon.

The driver said he drove into the lane because he was given the wrong address.
