Court Fields School in Wellington is celebrating Madagascar Week. The annual week of events raises funds for the Madagascar charity the school has supported for many years.

A different year group organises activities each day and every tutor group has a ‘penny jar’ to collect small change during the week.

The week culminates on Friday with a non-uniform day, a cake sale and, at the end of school, a walk to Wellington Monument. During the walk, students and staff will carry bricks and planks of wood as that is what many children in Madagascar have to carry to school each day to make a seat or a desk.

The Madagascar’s Got Talent show is in the school hall on Wednesday, May 22, starting at 7pm. Members of the public, as well as parents, are invited. Tickets are available on the door - £4 adults and £2 students.
