POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Wellington on Friday, March 13.

Officers closed Mantle Street at around 8.45pm after a 57 year old man sustained injuries after he spoke to three teenage boys who had allegedly been damaging cars.

Three teenagers have been arrested.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have been in the Mantle Street area at the time of this incident as they may have information that could help police with enquiries.

They are asked to call 0845 456 7000 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Callers do not have to give their names and could qualify for a reward.
