Mayor of Wellington Gary James and his wife Bee attended the Mayor making of Barbara Wells at Axbridge.

Cllr James it was a splendid occasion and the previous Mayor Pauline Ham was thanked for her past year’s service.

The High Sheriff, Dennis Burn, and other dignitaries from across the county also attended.

The proceedings included the elections to post for Sergeant at Arms, Bailiff and town crier who declared in the traditional way to the people of Axbridge the election of a new Mayor.
