West Country law firm Risdon Hosegood unveiled its fifth office in the area when it opened a new premises in Wellington on Tuesday.

Town Mayor Mark Lithgow cut the ribbon to open the offices in Fore Street, before thanking the staff, telling them: "Thank you all for bringing your business to Wellington."

The company, established in 1788, already has offices in Dulverton, Minehead, Williton and Taunton.

Risdon Hosegood expects to employ 14 staff in the offices, primarily involved in family law, wills and probate, and property issues.

Senior partner Ed Judge said he was happy to be opening in Wellington: "It’s a great little town, and we’re delighted to be right here in the heart of it.

"We pride ourselves on being part of the community, with the right people, in the right space. We don’t want to be one of those law firms with offices in a business park on the outskirts of town.

"We look forward to working with the people of Wellington for years to come."
