THE Mayor of Wellington, Cllr Janet Lloyd, has been elected to serve for a second year.
Cllr Lloyd had already been nominated and proposed and seconded and endorsed by colleagues, but the formal seal of approval was made during Wellington Town Council’s annual meeting on May 7.
Cllr Andy Govier congratulated Cllr Lloyd for all her efforts and hard work during the 2024-25 year.
“I would like to thank Cllr Lloyd for her service over the past year,” he said.
Cllr Mark Lithgow was elected as vice-chairman for 2025/26 – rather than for the position of deputy mayor.
Cllr Lloyd thanked Cllr Catherine Govier-Wiggins, who had served as deputy mayor, for her support over the past year.
