This oak tree occupied a prominent position in a field off Howard Road, Wellington, but has been felled to make way for the new Isambard Kingdom Brunel Primary School being built on the Longforth Farm estate.

The school is being built due to increasing pupil numbers in Wellington and will continue to expand until it reaches capacity by 2027, when it will offer 420 places.
