KINGSMEAD School Zambian Exchange Group is organising a fun mini-biathlon, the Wivey Splash and Dash, to raise funds for the pupil exchange to Zambia.

The event will involve a swim and an off-road run, and will take place in Wiveliscombe’s open air pool followed by a run around the recreation ground and adjacent fields.

The event is on Sunday, September 11, and is open to anyone from the age of eight providing they can swim the race distance unaided.

The emphasis is on participation rather than finishing position – it will not be officially timed, although participants are welcome to time themselves – and all finishers will receive a medal. The three categories are: age eight to 11 – swim 75m and run 900m; age 12 to 15 – swim 175m and run 1800m; age 16 and above – swim 275m and run 2700m.
