CARNIVAL ROYALTY: Teenager Kiera Chard, pictured centre, is to be crowned Wellington Carnival Queen 2012.

Kiera, 16, finished at Court Fields Community School, Wellington at the end of the summer term and is going to Space, at the Tacchi Morris Theatre, to be a drama student.

Court Fields student Bonita Watts, 15, has been chosen Junior Miss Wellington, and Junior Miss Wellington Attendant is Jasmin Coombes, nine, who attends Wellesley Park Junior School in the town.

The trio will take pride of place at the head of the Wellington Carnival procession on September 29.
