POLICE are stepping up patrols in a number of villages near Wellington following a spate of burglaries and thefts.
During February there were two reports of burglary and two of theft in Oake, Bradford-on-Tone, Langford Budville, and Nynehead.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police, said: “Please be aware that a number of sheds and stables have been broken into across the area.”
The spokesperson said in response to the incidents, villagers would see an increased police presence around the area both with foot and mobile patrols.
Nynehead parish councillors discussed the crime situation during their monthly meeting held on Monday, March 16.
Information on how to make gardens and outbuildings more secure can be found on the parish council’s website.
