A VIRTUAL funding workshop is to be hosted later in the month by local MP Rachel Gilmour in collaboration with the People’s Postcode Lottery.
The workshop will provide advice for local charities, volunteer organisations, and community groups in the Tiverton and Minehead constituency on how they can apply for funds to make a difference for people.
Mrs Gilmour’s constituency, which covers West Somerset and takes in parts of the Culm Valley and Blackdown Hills and some neighbouring parishes to Wellington, has seen more than £129,000 raised by People’s Postcode Lottery players for small, local causes.
The live workshop will be held using Zoom software from 10 am to 11 am on Wednesday, May 28, and anybody who wants to sign up for it should email [email protected].
Mrs Gilmour said: “I am delighted I will be co-hosting this funding workshop with People’s Postcode Lottery to provide local charities across the Tiverton and Minehead constituency with information they need to access funding.
“I know there are many charities and good causes in my constituency that would greatly benefit from funding, and I encourage them to come along to the workshop to find out what funding is available.
“It is thanks to the players of People’s Postcode Lottery that these funds are available, and I am thankful for their support.”
Lottery public affairs head Nick Cook said: “The money raised by players is making a great impact in communities across the country.
“We want to do the best we can to help local charities and good causes successfully apply, particularly at a time when many are losing out on essential funds.
“Our free virtual workshop is a useful opportunity for smaller, local charities and good causes to find out about the funding available, get advice on applying, and ask us any questions they may have.”
