ADDITIONAL names may be added to the war memorial in Wellington Park which currently lists 221 local servicemen who died during the First and Second World Wars.

Research has also shown that as many as 32 names of those who fell in the Great War of 1914-18 may be missing from the list on the memorial.
In co-operation with Wellington Royal British Legion, a town council working party is to report back to the council with suggestions on how the missing and new names might be added to the four-sided granite memorial, one side of which is blank. It is hoped that the work will be completed by 11 November 2018, the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day.
