A new challenge has been launched by SASP (Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership) in celebration of United by Birmingham 2022. The campaign is aiming at getting children and families physically active during the the commonwealth games.

The Commonwealth Games take place on Thursday 28th July until Monday 8th August. England is currently second in the medals.

United by Birmingham 2022 said: “The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will demonstrate the very best of Global Britain to the world, showcasing the region’s strengths of: being connected and accessible; youth and inclusivity; and a focus on regeneration and rejuvenation.

“The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games is perfectly positioned, sitting at the heart of the UK and standing for the diversity of the Commonwealth.”

A spokesperson from SASP said: “In celebration of United by Birmingham 2022, Somerset Activity & Sports Partnership (SASP) has created a challenge for children and families to be physically active for 60x minutes each day and earn points for a draw prize.

“Our 60 minutes a day challenge calendar is filled with suggestions, linked to the Commonwealth Games in the videos when you click on a challenge. You can gain a certificate every 4 days and a gold certificate on day 12!

“All players taking part will be entered in to the prize draw on 9th August. Winners will be picked at random and notified by email.”
