A LOCAL community farm is inviting local residents to become crop share members and enjoy fresh, seasonal vegetables grown here in Wellington.
The Wellington Community Farm is a community-supported enterprise and offers members a weekly share of a wide variety of vegetables grown using organic principles.
By joining members become part of a community directly supporting local food production, biodiversity, and sustainable farming practices.
With food miles increasing, supermarket prices remaining unpredictable and supply being increasingly affected by world events, joining a crop share is a practical and sustainable way for individuals and families to access high-quality, affordable and nutritious fresh vegetables while investing in their local community.
Members can enjoy a variety of seven vegetables such as carrots, beetroot, kale, tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce and parsley for just £12 per week.

A team member at Wellington Community Farm said: “Becoming a crop share member is about more than just buying vegetables. It’s a way to reconnect with where food comes from, support regenerative farming, and be part of something positive in our local area.”
Crop share members benefit from a weekly share of freshly harvested seasonal vegetables, access to local, sustainably grown food, and a closer connection to the land and farming processes.
They also have the opportunity to support a thriving community farm in Wellington, to take part in voluntary sessions during the growing and harvesting season and to receive regular updates from the farm.
“Whether you’re passionate about eating locally, reducing your environmental impact, or simply want fresher and tastier produce, Wellington Community Farm offers an easy way to make a difference,” the team member added.
Memberships are now open, but spaces are limited for the upcoming season for the farm located next to the Basins allotments.
