A NEW head teacher for St John's Primary School, Wellington, has been announced.

He is Duncan Gordon, currently deputy head at Beech Grove Primary School in the town.

Mr Gordon is due to take up his post at the beginning of the new school year in September.

Mr Gordon told the WWN: "I have had 12 very happy years at Beech Grove. It is a good school with a great community of staff, children, parents and governors.

My successor will be fortunate to join such a great team."
