WELLINGTON town councillors approved a budget for the coming financial year which will see the town's council tax remaining unchanged for the tenth year running.
But, as revealed by the WWN last week, council taxpayers could be digging deeper in their pockets next year.
A proposal by Town Clerk Greg Dyke recommending a shortfall of £19,000 be covered with a sub from the council's balances in order to maintain the current level of council tax at £16.50 for band D properties was accepted.
However, there were calls for cuts in the amount of money doled out in grants to local organisations.
