The Wellington Spring Flower Show has had to be cancelled for the second year running because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, gardeners are being given the chance to have photos of the plants and shrubs they are most proud of published in the WWN.

Show secretary Sheena Page said: “This is the time of year when our gardens are looking at their best, with daffodils and hellebores blooming their heads off, and trees and shrubs beginning to come into leaf.

“As with last year’s summer show, which was also cancelled, the WWN has kindly agreed to publish photos of your flowers and shrubs.

“If you would like to photograph some pots or vases of flowers, a shrub or a corner of your garden, please send the photo to [email protected] and hopefully we can have an array of spring blooms. Indoor plants can also be included. Not quite the real deal but something to cheer us all up.”

Sheena would like all photos sent to her by Saturday, March 27, the planned day of the show.

It is hoped a summer show of some kind will be held but final decisions have not yet been made. Details can be found at the show’s website, www.wellingtonflowershow.co.uk
