NYNEHEAD Court – a Grade Two listed country house set in 13 acres of parkland near Wellington – will be holding its first Open Gardens of 2019 on March 3.

The home’s National Garden Scheme Open Gardens events are always well-attended by gardens enthusiasts eager to see the home’s parkland during different seasons, and of particular interest at this time of year are the snowdrops, daffodils, primroses and bluebells out in the parkland.

The helebores, pulmonaria and brunnera should also be in flower in the borders, and other wild flowers will be evident in set-aside areas of parkland which are maintained by the gardening team to encourage wildlife.

The grounds are open from 2-4.30pm, with a tour by head gardener Justin Cole at 2pm. The cost is £5 adults – no charge for children – and tea and home-made cake will be for sale in the Orangery after the tour.

Home manager Angela Watkins said: “We are always delighted to show off our wonderful grounds and the NGS Open Gardens events allow us to raise money for this cause at the same time. We will be holding another open gardens on June 2 and have our garden fete on June 29.”
