STUDENTS at Court Fields School in Wellington have been visited by members of the Neighbourhood Police team who warned them of the dangers of drugs and County Lines.

Police say: “We know County Lines drug dealers have continued to operate throughout the pandemic, often using online platforms to groom young children.

“Drug gangs will use these children to store, sell and transport class A drugs from bigger cities into smaller towns across the country.

“Young victims of County Lines are often visible in public spaces like public transport, fast food outlets and shopping centres; hotels, roadside services, taxis and ride shares.

“As lockdown continues to ease, and we spend more time in public spaces, it can be easier to spot victims of child exploitation. Know how to ‘LookCloser’ and spot the signs to help protect young people.”
