OWNER of the new Wellington Tandoori restaurant, Asif Iqbal has been named “Curry King” at the prestigious Asian ICON Awards.

Asif secured his “Curry King” title at the Birmingham awards ceremony on Sunday, May 11, which hosted a number of big names including the award-winning broadcaster Harpz Kaur and model Sadaf Aras among others.

Asif says attending the ceremony and winning the award has been one of the most memorable experiences of his life.

He said: “I still can’t quite believe it. It’s such an honour to be recognised in this way, especially at such a prestigious event.

“It was a proud moment not just for me, but for everyone who’s been a part of this journey.”
