FOUR members of the Martin family from George Street, Wellington, rose to the Three Peaks challenge climbing the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.

Mandy Martin, John Norvell and their sons Kai and Fin (pictured) were joined by John’s brother Dan and his Suma Wholefoods team, who provided transportation between Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

The combined ascent of all three mountains is more than 10,000ft and the walking distance 37km. The whole family managed to meet the challenge by finishing within 24 hours.

They were raising funds for the charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), in memory of Mandy’s brother Wes, a talented artist and musician who died last year.

CALM runs a helpline and works to raise awareness and prevent male suicide. Mandy would like to thank everyone who generously gave their support by donating to this charity.
