Photographer Karen Kimmins, from Wellington, has achieved the distinction of becoming a ‘Qualified Professional’ member of the Guild of Photographers.
Karen, of Karen Kimmins Newborn Photography, based at the Blackdown Business Park, had to undergo a rigorous assessment process and is now one of only about 350 people in this country to achieve qualified status.
Directors of the guild Steven and Lesley Thirsk, said: “We are delighted that Karen has achieved qualified status. The guild has very demanding standards, so this achievement reflects Karen’s commitment to her photography, as well as her ability. The judging is undertaken by a panel of industry experts from a variety of photography backgrounds, so Karen should be very proud of this recognition.”
Karen said: “I am over the moon to have achieved this recognition, seeing it as a result of many years’ experience and hard work, as well as a reflection of my commitment to delivering the very best service to all my lovely customers. It’s also great timing as I’ve just moved into my new studio, so I’ll be able to now offer more varied sessions, including cake smash and larger family portraits. It’s such an exciting time right now for my little business”.
