PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council in Wellington:

Temporary closure of Monument Close

Somerset Council has made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Monument Close, Wellington, from outside 5 Barn Meads Road to 19 Monument Close for a total distance of 104 metres.

This order is in place to enable Openreach to carry out ducting works.

These works will be conducted between Wednesday, November 13, and Monday, November 17, between the hours of 8am and 6pm. There is no alternative route for this closure.

Road closures in Milverton

Somerset Council has made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along two streets in Milverton.

The first closure will affect Silver Street, from the junction with Rosebank Road to the junction with Turnpike for a total distance of 138 metres.

This order is to enable Wessex Water to carry out reinstatement works.

The works are expected to take place on Monday, November 10, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Secondly, Baghay Farm Lane will also be closed for a total distance of 240 metres.

This closure is to enable Kier to carry out drain replacement works on behalf of Somerset Highways.

The works are expected to commence on Monday, November 10, and last until Friday, November 14, with the road being closed at all hours of the day.

Wellesley Park faces temporary closure

Somerset Council has made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Wellesley Park, Wellington, from its junction with South Street, heading southwards for a total distance of 26 metres.

This order is to enable Openreach to carry out ducting works.

The work is expected to be conducted between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm on Sunday, November 16.

Temporary closure in Oake

Somerset Council has made an order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Allerford Road, Oake, for a total distance of 98 metres.

This order will enable Network Rail to carry out signal and telecoms testing.

This order will be in place from 10pm on Monday, November 10, to 6am on Tuesday, November 11, for a total of one night.
