PLANS for a new ‘microbar’ in Wellington town centre have taken a twist with the new premises now hoped to be the former Warrens bakery in High Street.

The WWN reported last week that Karina Macri planned to set up the bar in the former Bladez hairdressers but she has now shifted her attention a few doors down the road.

Karina told the WWN she felt Warrens was larger and more open, and had outside space she could potentially rent.

She said: “My main focus will be providing customers with a unique, personal pub experience. I’m all about conversation and local produce – local beer, craft beer and traditional cider. I’ll be dog friendly and I won’t be doing kitchen-served food, just light snacks.

“I aim to work in collaboration with local businesses for the overall well-being and growth of the town.”

Karina also plans to produce her own Wellington beer and cider as a ‘side project’.
