Motorists in Somerset will have road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that both of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A30, from 6pm February 26 to 6am May 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound and southbound, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.

And one more closure will begin over the next seven days:

• M5, from 9pm April 19 to 4am April 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound and southbound, junction 26 to 27 - lane closures for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
