PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.

Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.

Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council in Wellington:

• Barn Meads Road, Wellington, will be subject to a temporary provision of parking from Thursday, October 9, to Friday, December 19, enable Kier working on behalf of Somerset Council to carry out footway resurfacing works. The restrictions will only apply when indicated by traffic signs. Exemptions are provided in the Order for emergency vehicles.

• Momument Road, Wellington Without, will be closed from the junction with Wellington Relief Road, for a total distance of 737 metres. The closure will be in place between the hours of 8am to 5pm from Saturday, October 13, to Sunday, October 14. This is to enable Kier to carry out jetting works on behalf of Somerset Highways.

• Pyles Thome, Wellington Without, will be closed from the junction with Pyles Thome Road, for a total distance of 235 metres. The closure will take place from Saturday, October 13, to Wednesday, October 17. This is to enable OCU Group Ltd to carry out ducting works on behalf of Virgin Media. There is no alternative route for this closure.

• Butts Way, Milverton, will be closed until Friday, October 10, with the road closure having began on Monday, September 29. This closure is to enable Wessex Water to carry out sewer lining works.

• Allerford Road, Oake, will be closed overnight from 540 metres north-west of the junction with Upcott Road for a total distance of 100 metres. The closure will be in place from 11.30pm on Saturday, October 4, to 8am on Sunday, October 5. It will also be closed from 11.30pm on Saturday, October 11, to Sunday, October 12. This is to enable Network Rail to carry out phased level crossing inspection works.

• A temporary 30mph speed limit will be in place at Williton Road, Bishops Lydeard, from a point of 87 metres south of the junction with Holford Lane in a southerly direction for 700 metres. This will be in place between the hours of 8am and 4pm on Friday, October 10. This is to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing works.
