WORK to create new units at Wellington’s Westpark 26 business park is underway.

The work, which is being developed by Summerfield Commercial, will see the development of two high quality terrace units, which is intended to provide flexible, energy efficient spaces designed to meet the needs of a range of suitable occupiers.

There are four of the units already under offer and significant interest in several others, it’s evident that these units are in strong demand. The first units on plot 19, named Summerfield Court, are planned to be available to purchase or rent from summer of 2026.

The 16 proposed units are to be constructed by Devon Contractors to an EPC A grade standard. They are set to incorporate sustainable features such as solar panels, glazed entrance canopies and optional charging points for electric vehicles.

Layouts for the units range from a size of 163 square metres to 227 square metres, with a height of 6.5 metres between the ground and the eave of the roof.

Units will also feature wide, insulated electric loading doors, their own yard and on-site parking. They will also include options for mezzanine floors and office spaces.

Westpark 26 already has a range of different businesses operating from its site, ranging from various industries like distribution, warehousing, logistics and manufacturing.

The business park also features a wide range of amenities and commercial businesses, including a Travelodge, pub, restaurants, a petrol filling station, Costa, McDonalds and a KFC.

Ben Trickey, commercial director at Summerfield Commercial, said: “We are pleased to have Devon Contractors on site and to see work progressing on the retaining wall and earthworks. Once developed, these 16 units will offer sustainable, EPC A, high quality accommodation to small and mid-sized businesses.”
