PUPILS at St John’s Primary School in Wellington have enjoyed a visit from local poet Annie Fisher as part of their whole school Poetry Week.

The main focus of the week was poems by the Cornishman Charles Causley, as this year is the 100th anniversary of his birth.

Pupils from Early Years Foundation Stage up to Year 6 enjoyed learning a variety of poems by Causley throughout the week.

Following a day of fun and engaging workshops with Annie, pupils explored a range of poetic techniques and wrote poems of their own.
