THE Co-op in Fore Street, Wellington, is set to re-open tomorrow (Thursday) following a £745,000 makeover.
The store will focus on fresh, healthy foods, meal ideas and essentials, and manager Mark Jones is pleased with the changes.
He said: “We are delighted to have made such a significant investment in our Fore Street store – it has a great new look and we are looking forward to re-launching and serving the community. “The Co-op is moving forward with a clear purpose and momentum and our ambition is to establish the store as a local hub, a real asset for the community. It is an exciting time for the whole team.”
Local community groups will receive a funding boost through the Co-op’s new membership scheme. Members receive a 5% reward on purchases of own-branded products and services, with a further 1% going directly to local causes.
Community groups in the Wellington area set to benefit are 1st Wellington Scout Group and Wellington Community Centre. Groups benefit for a six-month period before new local good causes are selected.
Offers and promotions will be available in the new-look store to mark its re-launch.
Students in the Wellington area who hold a NUS extra card will receive a 10% discount off their groceries.
