HUMANS will be auctioned in a charity fundraiser at the Barley Mow pub in Rockwell Green.

The event is in aid of the ward at Southmead Hospital in Bristol which looked after village toddler Miya Baker, who was born 14 weeks premature.

Local businesses have offered to lend their time and skills for the human auction, and pub landlady Lorraine Taylor says that on offer already are a photoshoot, beauty treatment, painting and decorating, a car valet and a haircut.

The event on Saturday, August 6, from noon to 5pm, will also include sumo wrestling, a frozen T-shirt competition, a magician, hook-a-duck, bouncy castle, face painting and barbecue. A table top sale will also be held with pitches priced £5. For more details contact Lorraine on 01823 972754.

Miya’s mum Shannon and dad Luke Woodgate spent more than six weeks at Southmead Hospital after Miya was born weighing just 1lb 2oz.
