Wellington quilter and freelance writer Sarah Ashford has published a book for beginners in the craft.
‘Jump Into Patchwork and Quilting’ contains six projects from a simple patchwork pillow to a mug rug, table runner, baby quilt, throw and a sampler quilt.
While the book is ideal for beginners, the designs are still perfect and enjoyable for all quilting enthusiasts.
It includes step-by-step instructions, how to master essential skills and comprehensive information on tools needed plus tips and tricks.

As well as publishing her own patterns, she writes for magazines including Today’s Quilter and the Modern Quilt Guild. She is the founder of the Great British Quilter, an online community championing British Quilters and designers. She also hosts the Great British Quilter podcast.
Published by C&T Publishing (£10.60 paperback) the book is out on July 25. It is accompanied by a collection of threads, three neutrals and two colours, by Italian company Auriful, available from www.sarahashfordstudio.com where more of Sarah’s work can be seen.
