SEEMINGLY oblivious of each other, a rambler who has perhaps just finished selecting the next music track on his portable device, stands just yards away from a deer munching near a hedgerow in a field on the edge of Wellington.

Keen amateur photographer David Hellyer captured the picture from a bedroom window of his home in Barn Meads Road.

David, a postman for 46 years who is now retired, says he has 68,000 images on his computer.

He added: “Photography has been my passion for more than four decades but I still class myself as a happy amateur.”
