Pegasus formally submits plans for housing on far side of Wellington Relief RoadTo mark this event Daphne Hilsden will be giving a public talk on the fashions of the Regency period – the first two decades of the 19th Century – the time setting of Jane Austen’s novels.
Daphne, who has been researching the subject for many years, will describe the conventions and development of women’s and men’s clothing in all levels of society and will be showing examples of the clothing.
The talk, in aid of Wellington Local History & Museum Society, is on Thursday, September 28, in Wellington Prep School Hall, South Street, at 7.30pm. Entry is £3 – £2 society members.
