WORKERS at Wellington’s biggest company, Relyon, are in the dark over the future of the company.

The firm, which employs about 450 staff, was put into administration at the end of last month. It is part of Blue Group Holdco Ltd, which includes Bensons for Beds and Harveys. Administrator PwC has announced 240 people across the group have been made redundant but so far none at the Wellington company.

One furloughed worker at Wellington said yesterday (Thurs): “We were supposed to receive a letter last Friday updating us. But we have been told nothing.”

The WWN understands that Dreams, which had been interested in buying Relyon last year, may be renewing its interest. The factory is still operating but at reduced capacity.
