Wellington charity boss Fiona Mahoney has been nominated in the West Country Women Awards.

Ms Mahoney is the CEO of the nationally recognised charity Reminiscence Learning which specialises in dementia care.

The charity is no stranger to awards, most recently Ms Mahoney and her husband invited to Buckingham Palace in recognition of the charity's efforts.

Now Ms Mahoney is in the runnings for the West Country Women Awards, which celebrate the achievements of women from across the region. She was nominated by a supporter of the charity in acknowledgment of her work in building the charity up over its 20 year history.

With finalists set to be announced in December, Ms Mahoney will soon find out whether she has made it through to the next stage of the contest.
