Opinion: Five pence sprouts are great, but spare a thought for your high streetThe organising committee, led by Holly Regan-Jones, was again pleased by the positive feedback from visitors to the event, with a significant number saying it was their first such visit.
Refreshments were as usual provided by ladies of Wellington WI. Maria Dorpman, from the group, said: "After so many of our activities being suspended for so long, we really enjoy the opportunity provided by the Repair Café to get together, socialise and serve the community at the same time."
The refreshments served on the day raised more than £50 for the WI’s nominated local charity, which this year is Wellington Hospital League of Friends.
The next Repair Café is scheduled for Saturday, March 5, at the same venue. Anyone who would like to help, either in offering their skills as a repairer, or as part of the organising committee, is invited to contact Holly - email [email protected] or phone 01823 660161.
