Children at the new IKB Primary School on the Longforth Farm estate in Wellington were delighted to receive a surprise visit from Father Christmas last week.

Pupils also visited St John’s Church to hang their salt dough angels on trees, which was followed by a Christmas lunch. The children are also busy preparing for their nativity, which will be performed in a Covid-safe manner.

The school says children, parents/carers and staff have settled into life at IKB. One parent said: “We are so pleased we chose IKB School for our son. He comes home every day wanting to show us what he has learnt and he’s so happy. All the staff are very approachable.”

In the first term the school has been open, it has raised almost £3,000 from a virtual book fair which is being spent on books for the school’s library, which will be delivered soon.

The school is also looking forward to the official opening of the Bright Sparks nursery on Monday, January 11, which will take children from the age of two to Reception age.
