TWO ex-Wellington School girls have joined forces in a festive fundraising project.
Claire McGill and Dr Kate Evans, who is from Wellington, are helping to raise the profile of and funds for the charity Kate founded called Elephants for Africa – www.elephantsforafrica.org. Kate was born and raised in Wellington and her family are still based here.
Claire said: “We attended Wellington School from 1985-93 and have been firm friends ever since. Our lives have taken very different paths – me being a writer in the USA most recently, and Kate ploughing all her time and effort into developing her charity in Botswana.
“But, now both back in the UK, we’ve come together with our different skills and talents to promote the Festive Fundraiser for Kate’s amazing charity Elephants for Africa. One of the charity’s private donors is going to match donations up to a total of £10,000 – and we’re asking people to help make that happen.
