FORMER Rockwell Primary School headteacher the Rev George Todd has been remembered in a tree planting ceremony at the school.
Mr Todd, who died in October aged 95, was first a teacher and then head of the school between 1962-84.
The school contacted Rev Todd’s family following his death after a people had shared their fond memories of him on a Facebook page.
It was thought planting a tree would be a fitting tribute to such a well-loved gentleman.
Former pupils, parents, teachers and other staff attended the ceremony as well as members of Rev Todd’s family.
The head boy and head girl wrote a prayer, which they read at the ceremony before presenting a copy to Mrs Todd.
The school said it would like to thank everyone who came to mark this occasion.
