PEOPLE from the Wellington area are being invited to support a town scout group and St Margaret’s Hospice by having their car washed at a fundraiser.

Rumwell Farm Shop and the 1st Wellington Scout Group have teamed up to raise money for the charity and the scout group on Saturday, May 13, from 10am-4pm.

Anne Mitchell, joint owner of the farm shop, said: “As our car washes were a great success last year we decided to host another two this year.

“We hope lots of people take advantage of the car wash as it is being held in aid of two great local causes.

“St Margaret’s Hospice is one of our charities of the year and we’re delighted that the scouts were happy once again to come on board for the fundraiser and also collect some money for their activities.”

The car wash will be held in the Rumwell Farm Shop car park and will cost £4 a vehicle with £2 going to the Wellington Scouts and £2 to St Margaret’s Hospice.

Dave Belfield, executive chairman at the 1st Wellington Scout Group, said: “We’re delighted to once again link with Rumwell Farm Shop for this fundraising car wash.

“We hope lots of people in the area get behind the event and pop along with their dirty vehicles. The scouts will be raring to go to make each car sparkle.

“The money raised will be going towards improving the scouts’ camping and activities equipment benefiting all age groups across Scouts, Cubs and Beavers.”

Last year St Margaret’s Hospice cared for more than 3,200 people across Somerset.
