Changes to a major works scheme on Mantle Street have been announced.

Mantle Street through to Exeter Road in Rockwell Green is set to be fully resurfaced with preparation works taking place from August 7 to August 18 under temporary traffic lights between the hours of 9.30 am and 3.30 pm.

The council had previously declared that works would conclude at the earlier time of 3 pm.

Councillor Mike Rigby, Somerset Council’s Lead Member for Transport and Digital said: “This road surface is showing significant signs of deterioration and it is vital that we carry out this work this summer.

“During the summer holidays is the best time in terms of impact on traffic flow – we appreciate there will be some disruption, but our team has worked closely with businesses and residents to ensure everyone is fully informed and can plan ahead where necessary.”
