Somerset West and Taunton's motorists will have 11 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing waits of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• M5, from 9pm July 11 to 4am October 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 - mobile lane closure for drainage works.

And a further 10 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• M5, from 8pm October 24 to 6am October 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 Both Directions, junction 25 exit slip road switching lane closures for local authority works.

• M5, from 8pm October 25 to 5am October 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 entry slip road closure for vegetation works, diversion via M5 southbound to junction 27.

• A30, from 8pm October 27 to 4am November 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound and southbound, junction 20 to junction 31 mobile lane closures for general maintenance.

• A30, from 8pm October 27 2022 to 5am April 4 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.

• M5, from 8pm October 31 to 5am November 1, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 25 entry slip road closed for horticulture works, diversion via M5 northbound, exit, junction 24, turn and join M5 southbound to junction 25.

• M5, from 8pm October 31 to 5am November 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 25 exit slip road closed for horticulture works, diversion via M5, exit, junction 24, turn and join M5 southbound to junction 25.

• M5, from 8pm November 1 to 5am November 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 25 entry slip road closed for horticulture works, diversion via M5 southbound, exit, junction 26, turn and join M5 northbound to junction 25.

• M5, from 8pm November 1 to 5am November 2, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 25 exit slip road closed for horticulture works, diversion via M5, exit, junction 26, turn and join M5 northbound to junction 25.

• M5, from 8pm November 7 to 6am November 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 25 - 26 lane closures for resurfacing.

• M5, from 9pm November 7 to 6am November 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 25 exit slip road closure for resurfacing, diversion via, junction 24 and return.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
