Somerset West and Taunton's motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

M5, from 8pm September 30 to 6am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 25, lane closure for surveys.

A30, from 8pm April 1 2025 to 4am April 1 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.

And a further four closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 8pm October 8 to 4am October 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 24 to junction 25 - lane closure for drainage work.

M5, from 9pm October 8 to 6am October 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 26, lane closure for barrier works.

M5, from 8pm October 20 to 4am October 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 27 to junction 26 - lane closure for drainage works.

M5, from 9pm October 20 to 6am October 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 24 to junction 25 - lane closure for electrical works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
