The fine weather produced bumper crowds at the two big Boxing Day rugby and football matches.

A near record crowd attended Wellington Football Club’s home game against Bishops Lydeard, which was won by the home side 4-1.

And about 1,000 spectators watched Wellington’s 13-12 rugby derby victory at home to Wiveliscombe.
