RETIRING Wellington town clerk, Tony Brown, was given a standing ovation by at Monday's meeting of Wellington Town Council.
Mr Brown, 71, who has stepped down after 34 years' service to the council, was presented with a commemorative plaque bearing the town's coat of arms by Cllr Dave Mitton.
Mr Brown was also presented with a notebook computer after well-wishers contributed to a fund for his retirement present.
