MILVERTON’S 12th Century stone head, which is on loan to Somerset Museums, is coming back to the village.

The stone was found in a garden in Milverton in the 1980s and is thought to date back to the 1170s. It is probably a type of bracket from a church or chapel.

The stone will be on display at the St Michael’s Church heritage event during the street festival on Bank Holiday Monday (May 1), together with other items found locally.

The street festival runs from 10am-4pm.
